The real deal!!

Me and Becca

Becca, me and Amanda after surgery!!

Anethesiologist and his equipment

All the sterile equipment. The patient is draped and on the right side of the picture laying on their stomach. They used a really cool operating table since it was a spinal surgery.

Me and Chip

I had the amazing opportunity of going to a Nashville hospital today and observing surgeries in the OR. Chip, who is in the nursing program at Belmont invited a few students to spend a few hours in the OR. The doctors were happy to have us there and showed us everything they were doing. I stood right next to the operating table and looked at the patient's vertebrae. We saw everything from the first incision to last suture and it was incredible. It's a little more exciting than giving bed baths and changing bedpans. It was nice to see where we could be working in 2 years. Many options in nursing. Hope you enjoy these awesome pictures!!

What an amazing opportunity. Seems like you got buddy buddy with the whole OR staff. Now why is that not surprising! You have the sweetest spirit when you are interacting with people like this. God has placed you there for a reason! Way to go.

Caleb and Rylee and I had so much fun looking at each picture in detail. What an incredible time-are you the first person to take that many pictures as a nursing student?! You look so happy. We miss you so much and are so proud of you.
