Oh, the joys of working on 9South at Vanderbilt, especially on Sundays. As you can see we weren't working too hard! We had an exciting day yesterday, and I'm just gonna say I was part of saving a life!! It was amazing. I went to take my patient's blood pressure (per Brenda's request) and he was non-responsive when I went in the room and I couldn't find a radial pulse. I yelled for help, grabbed a doctor from the hall and threw him in the room. I ran down the hall and yelled for Michael and before I knew it the room was packed with all kinds of people. The next hour was exciting with administering Narcan (narcotic antidote), vitals q5min., bolus fluids, rough sternal rubs from Margo, trying to keep the poor guy covered up (he prefered nudity), restraints, acuchecks, labs, etc. The whole experience made me realize how much I want to work in critical care and also how AMAZING all the people I work with are. They are the most incredible people and the best nurses.

Although the visit was short (at least the Nashville portion) it was still SO wonderful to see the Craigs! I haven't seen them since they left for Zambia in February. It is great to know they are doing so well. We went for sushi and then of course headed to Dairy Dip for dessert! Yum. Miss you guys already!! :)

It has been an eventful summer, but I've made it thru everything!! My 3 week visit to Seattle was very restful and it was great to be able to spend so much time with the fam!! Meeting little Isaac only a few hours after he was born was of course one of the highlights! Only a few more weeks until school starts. I am FINALLY a senior....TWO semesters left. It is seriously hard to believe!! Love and miss you all.

These pics are from my surprise visit to Seattle!! Mom and Danielle were the only ones who knew I was coming. I got to be there for Danielle's baby shower and was able to meet Audrey!! Dad was SHOCKED to say the least, which was so much fun. I hadn't seen the fam since January, so it was very good to see everyone. The blog is acting up right now so I can't upload all the pics I want. I'll keep trying cause I have more that I want to put up!! Enjoy these for now :)

I then sat (with the two of them napping in my lap) and sobbed and knew it was going to be nearly impossible for me to give them up.

Bekah and I decided to color my hair a few weeks ago and despite her skills, it didn't turn out as we had planned!! It was several colors and, well.....it just wasn't good. I had it fixed at my regular place, Trim and now it is a sulty, dark chocoloate brown and I LOVE it!!
