Hanging out with the family!!

The three little heads you see- Dad, Caleb & Rylee....they are watching golf together!! SO CUTE!

Me and mom!
Todd's graduation party (He got his masters at SPU). Vernabeth (Todd's mom), Todd & Danielle and Rylee

I LOVE this picture! Rylee got a scrape and this is her sad face. Lucky for her, Auntie Stephie was there to fix her up :)

Me and Karissa

Can't say that I fit very well in the radio flyer wagon anymore. My hips are a bit too wide!

Me and Christopher

Reading to the kids!

The picture says it all....

What a little cutie!

Rylee and Curi!

Summer is going by so fast and I can't believe I'll be back in Nashville in just 8 weeks! I am working so much but am of course finding time to spend with my family, as you can see from the pictures :) I start my online abnormal psych. class tomorrow so that should be interesting. I'm going to the Kenny Chesney concert, spending a few days at our place near Mt. Baker and riding the life size Thomas the Tank Engine train with the kids between now and when I go back to school so I'll be posting more fun pictures! Love to everyone in Nashville!

Duvall Days!

Me and Todd (brother-in-law). Doesn't he look "special"? Just kidding!!!

This dog was amazing. It's running to catch a frisbee which in the picture is right above his head! It was fun to watch.

Caleb was a little unsure about riding on the pony....

Duvall Days was on Saturday so me, Danielle & Todd and the Strovas fam all went. It was so much fun! They had potato sack races, a frog jumping contest, dog competitions, pony rides (Rylee and Caleb went for a ride!!) and lots of other things! The weather was beautiful and it was just the perfect day to hang out with the family :)

Nurse Stephanie

The unsuspecting patient: Maggie

Gloving up! Do I look a little too excited for this?

Withdrawing the medication

She doesn't have a clue what's coming!

The famous "flicking" of the needle. Very official looking :)

Here we go....deep breath for me. I was more nervous than Maggie!!

My sister Karissa got a puppy and when I found out Maggie needed a shot I said, "Oh my gosh, let me do it, I can totally do it, please, please let me give it to her!!" Needless to say she was happy to let me put my new nursing skills to good use. I've given an injection to a human but I was curious to see how it would go with a puppy. Maggie was an amazing patient and didn't move or make a sound when I gave her the shot. I have to say puppy skin is a little tougher than human skin so I had to use a little extra force! Also, my patients rarely have so much hair that it is difficult to see their skin!!

My last day in Nashville!!

Me right on music row!!! I love this picture!!!

Downtown

Do I look like a tourist or what??

There is no actual street sign that says music row....just music square!

The famous naked statue!

Me and Katie

Me and my amazing Nashville hair stylist, Mark at Trim!
Me, Stacy (roomie) and her fiance, Kyle

Well, I had a wonderful last day in Nashville! Hard to believe I will be in Seattle tomorrow! I had a lovely lunch with Katie and then we went around town and took some very fun pictures. It has been an amazing semester and I couldn't have made it through without the love and support of my family and friends.

My birthday and Kelsey's recital

A trip to dairy dip before birthday cake!!

Christy caught me at just the right moment!!

One of mom's hilarious gifts!

The Craigs gave me the school of nursing shirt that I really wanted!

Again, another fun gift from mom....bubbles! All the silly gifts were really intended for study breaks during finals but I forgot and didn't open them until Saturday! Ooops!

I am officially done with my first semester of nursing school!! I cannot believe it...I don't really know what to do with myself- no homework!! Just wanted to post a few pictures from my birthday and Kelsey's flute recital. Her performance was beautiful and flawless! Even though I was far from home on my birthday the Craigs made it incredibly special for me. My sweet family also mailed me packages which was fun :) I'll probably post one more time before I head home since I'm only in Nashville a few more days!

Katie & Christy's amazing performances!!

The cousins- Christy, Kelsey, Katie & me

I had the pleasure of going to Christy's recital and Katie's band concert tonight! Christy was by far the BEST singer and I was so proud watching her. I always hear her singing around the house but it was great to see her performing. Next it was on to Katie's band concert. It was extra special because this was the last concert of her high school band career as she is off to college in the fall. They sounded amazing and I am so glad I got to see her while I still had the chance!
I have one more final on Monday and then I will have officially completed my first semester in nursing school which is pretty incredible (with good grades too!!). I am so ready to go home for the summer and see my family and friends! I'll definitely post at least a few more times before I head home.

Our last lab of the semester

Giving an injection to my dummie

Jessie assaulting me with the dummie!!

Drawing my medication from a vial

Practicing injections on the hot dog!!

Inserting an NG tube into the dummie- up the nose, down the esophagus & into the stomach

We had a fun afternoon in lab! We inserted NG (nasogastric) tubes into our dummies. I also finally took pictures of practicing injections! We learned how to give them awhile ago and I have already given one to a real patient!! Today was our last lab for the semester so enjoy these pictures cause this is it till fall....although, I don't know how my new instructor will feel about taking pictures during lab...we'll see :) I learned so much this semester in lab- bed making, bed baths, enemas, injections, wound care, PO meds and many other things! It has been amazing.
